Hero Track

In the Hero Track, there are ten required core classes. These courses will teach heroes-in-training everything that they need to know about being a hero for when they graduate. The classes and a short summary are listed below, so you can learn a little bit about them before you decide what Track you would like to be apart of.

Combat Training

In Combat Training you will learn not only how to use several useful and deadly weapons, from ranged to even your own body as a lethal weapon. You will also learn strategy and tactics, both offensively and defensively, as well as how to plan an attack. Student’s will be expected to work hard and practice the techniques taught in this class often.

Health and Healing

This course offers students the ability to delve into the art of Healing by using various techniques and methods. Along with information, students will also be learning how to apply their knowledge to real life with the numerous labs we will be doing.

History of Heroes

Learn about heroes from all different cultures, places, worlds, books, and much more in this brief overview of the important heroes in history. Students will, by the end of the course, have general knowledge about heroes they love and cherish and about those they don’t even know yet, giving them a strong foundation for the future. Students will be studying a variety of heroes from superheroes to pop culture heroes to even Atemnity heroes.

Law and Justice

This course allows students to explore the system of law placed in our world as well as discuss how justice plays an important factor in the judicial system. Students will learn to apply their logic and reasoning to plead their case and use evidence to support their claims.

Psych Warfare

This is not a course for the weak-minded. Psych Warfare is for the ones who want to learn how to cheat, deceive, fool and use all manners of mental tactics to get effective results.

Life of a Hero

This course contains everything a hero needs to get started in their career. In the first year you will look at choosing a name, back story and alter ego, as well as the process of finding your strengths and weaknesses. In later years you will look at costumes, props, finding that all important side-kick, and much more.

Communication and Collaboration

In this course, students will learn about how to work with people, how to properly communicate an idea across, and how to interact with others.

Length: 3 "years" (8 lessons per year), beginning in Year Four.

Facing Fears

In this class, students will learn the skills necessary to face and overcome their biggest fears. By utilizing a variety of scenarios and techniques, students will come face to face with the objects and situations that they would ordinarily run from and learn to meet these fears head on with confidence and courage.

Length: 2 "years" (8 lessons per year), beginning in Year 5.

Magical Theory

In this course, students will learn to understand the ebb and flow of magic in our world, the forces that shape it, and how to manipulate it in everyday life.

Length: 1 "year" (8 lessons per year), beginning in Year 2.

Hero Advising

In Hero Advising, which takes place their last year at Hawthorne, students will be taught about what it is like being a hero in the real world. Students will have practicals, mock interviews, simulations, and will be put to the test at the end of the year, an exam that they will have to pass in order to graduate. 

Length: 1 "year" (8 lessons per year), beginning in Year 6.

 

There are also electives, listed below, that may be taken. These are optional, however many students find that the subjects in the electives are ones that they end up pursuing in the future.

Divination

Come on a journey of discovery into the realm of the future. There is much to be discovered, but remember that the future is not set in stone! In this class, you will learn various types of Divination that include, but are not limited to, tarot, tasseography, alomancy, numerology, and palmistry. This class is not for the faint of heart, but many gifts await those who work to excel!

Elemental Magic

Explore the branches of elemental magic, find your natural element and learn to control it and use it to your advantage. 

Length: 6 "years" (8 lessons per year)

Magic and Special Abilities

Explore magic and powers in Magic and Special Abilities, the number one class that will allow students to experiment and test the limits of their abilities. We will be practicing with all types of magic, including different foci, all types of superpowers and special skills, and even doing experiments with mundane methods.

Length: 4 "years" (8 lessons per year), beginning in Year 3.

Weapons and Gadgets

The course of Weapons and Gadgets is recommended for every student who would like to know more about the tools that can be used for many different reasons and effects. Students are expected to assess different scenarios and apply the most suitable weapon or gadget that works in the case, as well as know the main differences between their styles and operation mechanisms.
